What SPF Do You Need For Your Face? | Cleveland Skincare Experts

For most of us, our face is the most exposed part of the body. All year round it’s uncovered, facing the elements and debris of daily living. The best thing you can do to care for your face is to make sure you’re using sunscreen properly.

There’s a lot of info out there about when to apply sunscreen in your skincare routine, so you might find yourself wondering how to properly apply sunscreen and what SPF do you need for your face?

At Radiant Divine Medical Spa our skincare experts have the answers you’re looking for!

A quick guide to sunscreen for the face:

You need an SPF of 30+  daily

An SPF of at least 30 is what you need for your face on a daily basis. You should look for a broadspectrum SPF too, to ensure you’re getting protection from UVA and UVB rays.

You need to use the right amount

Make sure you thoroughly apply your sunscreen so that you’re completely covered. This means using about a nickel-sized amount of sunscreen for your face!

You need to reapply

Sunscreen needs to be reapplied multiple times throughout the day, usually every 2 hours if you’re getting prolonged exposure.

You need higher SPF for longer periods of sun exposure

If you’re going to be in the sun for longer periods of time you need to make sure you’re on top of reapplying often. More than that, you should use a higher SPF for more protection, too!
